Course structure

There are 4 core modules; you then choose a further two. The course can be taken in one year full time or studied part-time over two years. Your commitment would be 12 hours a week (full-time) in college plus you will be expected to undertake coursework and research I your own time. The course is currently timetabled on two days a week.

  • Psychology in the workplace
  • Sociology of Health
  • English Legal Systems & Methods
  • English Legal Systems & Law in Context
  • Basic Research Methods

Entry requirements

60-120 UCAS points from “A” Level or BTEC National Diploma, or NVQ level 3 in a relevant vocational area, or an Access to HE certificate. Professional experience will be considered for accreditation of prior learning.

 

Progression opportunities

Achievement of the certificate in Higher Education Combined Studies (Social Sciences) will provide the opportunity to progress to further HE study.
