Course Structure

This flexible, credit accumulation programme of study is aimed at those seeking part-time enhancement of personal and professional skills. You can study at either one college or at a combination of the three. All three participating colleges offer the basic core modules: Personal and Professional Development; Reflective Practice; Research Methods; and a Research Project.
Stage 1
Personal and Professional Practice, plus any two 20 credit modules from the participating colleges = a 60 credit University Certificate
Stage 1 continued
The three modules above plus Reflective Practice and another two 20 credit stage 1 modules from the participating colleges = a 120 credit = Certificate of Higher Education
Stage 2
Research Methods plus any two 20 credit stage 2 modules = a 180 credit =University Diploma
Stage 2 continued
The three stage 2 modules as above plus a Research Project and another two 20 credit stage 2 modules from the participating colleges = a 240 credit = Diploma of Higher Education
The above pattern is for a “standard” half-time mode of study; in practice students can opt for a slower or a faster pace of learning to suit their own particular needs. The three colleges aim to meet individuals’ needs as far as is feasible.
